Amazing Photoshop and Illustrator Artworks

written by Rebecca Smith

The Illustrator and Photoshop are usually most often used and most popular programs from Adobe house. They are leading image editing applications for the Internet, print and other new media disciplines. They are used by a great number of artists, designers and regular people. In this showcase we’ve collected 15 amazing Photoshop and Illustrator artworks, hopefully, you’ll find a great doze of inspiration. Enjoy the roundup.

If we look through the Web, it’s likely that nearly every poster, logo, book cover, magazine pictures, brochures and cartoon illustrations have been made or edited by Photoshop or Illustrator. These two powerful apps exist to enhance pictures and images and make them unique, outstanding and really awesome. Raster and Vector arts are both used by designers when they are creating their amazing artworks. Each has their own value in a design World and designers have their significant reasons for their use. Most professional artists prefer to own both softwares, because of their unique capabilities which complement each other. Both programs have so many wholesome features one would be at loss to decide which is better or more usable, they’re both best! These two power-house applications have their own advantages that are not crossing each other, because the two together is essential. Each of them has their own set of features which make them both stand alone applications.

But if you can not choose which of those two Adobe programs to pick for creating the project, bear in mind that Photoshop works mainly with pixels, that means layers when resized loose their quality and Illustrator works with vectors that allow you to resize vectorized layers freely without loosing quality. On the other hand Photoshop has better capability to blend colors together to make projects look more realistic.

In order not to litter your head with unnecessary thoughts, we’ve decided to familiarize you with main advantages of these programs. Photoshop is better for:

  • photo retouch and manipulation;
  • digital painting and special effects;
  • photo-realistic illustrations;
  • web design;
  • poster designs involving photo manipulation;
  • projects that don’t require size increase in future.

With the help of Illustrator you can better do:

  • logo designs that can be enlarged in future;
  • cartoon illustrations;
  • clothing design;
  • high quality and large vector images;
  • working with text;
  • resizable images of objects.

But in spite of all these features, best results for the overall project will be achieved only by using them in conjunction with one another. Photoshop effects used in Illustrator and Illustrator effects imported into Photoshop extend the capabilities of both programs. Every of these powerful applications have their place in the computer world. They are really different and can not be compared.
Today, we’ve showcased a cool roundup of both Illustrator and Photoshop artworks. You can ensure by yourself how beautiful and creative they are, despite of what software they were made. All of the pictures present unusual style, ideas and original approaches to the illustrations. Some images are mysterious, gloomy the other ones are funny and very romantic. Everyone will, surely, find something interesting and unexpected. Enjoy this fantastic and really inspirational selection and make your own choice which of the programs is the best for you :).

    Impressive artworks indeed. As far as I remember, I’ve always wanted to do digital illustration/drawings but didn’t like the process of drawing with pencil then scanning these miserable sketches and vectorizing them or something like that… Finally, I’m buying a tablet soon and we’ll what I can do with it… ;)

    PS: ‘The Atari Girl’ has instantly reminded me of Dendy in the closet! Guess who’s gonna play some Galaxy today? :P
