The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament. It is scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. This will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by an African nation.

As hopes, dreams and excitement are growing and all eagerly awaiting the beginning of the contest and the first goal, I want to present you the official posters, logos and mascots from all World Cup’s so far. It’s interesting to see how their design changes over time.

Showcase includes all 19 posters from 1930-2010, 16 logos (first official logo showed up in 1950 for the World Cup in Brazil, and 12 mascots (the first official mascot was presented in 1966 for the World Cup in England).

Enjoy and choose your favorite!

  • All of them seem to be so Awe some and cool. All images are extremely revitalized and the color palettes are absolutely transformed from their imaginative essence. You have a extraordinary group of images here. Some of them are latest than classic, although I could see the 80’s look in some images.

  • We (switch design group) managed to not only design the 2010 logo but also won a 3 way pitch for the 2010 poster. The 2010 fever has finally hit us here in SA with one week to go before kick-off.

    Great post !!!

  • hey, can someone tell me from which website I can find out who is responsible for the logos and designs of the mascots? Need those information for a presentation.

    thanks in advance =)

    julie
  • Very cool list. Each design is like a snapshot of the time and country hosting the world cup.

Not being a life-long Football (soccer) fan I’m kind of confused by the mascots. Everything seems so artistic and mature- and then the mascots are pretty childish/weird.

    Paul
  • Thats exposition,is very important for the soccer admirators. This is a truely history of football, the most sport of the world.
