Things Which Make Your eCommerce Websites Look Attractive and Trust-Worthy

written by Ann Davlin

Crazy about expensive brand clothes and hyped-up iPhones? Probably yes. Almost everybody likes eye-catchy things which can tell the entire world that you know the latest fashion news and you’re the lucky owner of some exclusive thing. Modern advertizing can make us desire anything. Millions dollars are spent to promote all sorts of goods and services and we cheerfully start googling for them.

But the paradox is that Internet users ofter face the problem of bad and unreasonable web design and poor sites usability. All costly efforts of developers, designers and marketers can be reduced to zero. Sometimes online stores and resellers complicate the process of purchasing as much as possible. Probably they even take no notice of it.

In fact, eCommerce websites’ functionality is rather monotonous: shopping carts, banners, products lists, category menus, search fields, etc. The majority of online store web templates include these elements by default and you have nothing to care about. But now we’d like to tell you several tips about eCommerce websites home pages which you can easily forget about (and you shouldn’t). This reading will not take much time, so you can quickly look it through and go ahead.

Reasonable Web Design

We mention this vogue paragraph here for accentuating you on its importance. Nobody can definitely say which design will be successful and which one will be failed. We just want to say that before choosing a web theme for your shop or creating a website’s layout from scratch you should clearly understand the target audience you’re going to sell for. For example if youíre building an online store for glam style girls then you shouldn’t use dark color scheme with creepy or grange web design elements even it they’re in fashion. There are no complications in it: just remember about people who’ll visit the site and everything will be ok.

Deals and Freebies

Surely all women are crazy about discounts and sales, but don’t forget that men, teenagers and aged people will not refuse an alluring offer of lower prices. Big banners with hot deals placed on a plain view can involve even more potential customers than other tools taken one with another.

Shopping Cart and Your Account Button

As usual both online store components are placed side by side. It’s quite natural and the majority of customers has already got accustomed to that. As it’s a kind of tradition then you shouldn’t try to surprise website’s visitors with some super creative innovations in this field. Place a shopping cart and a login box somewhere at the top of the home page (probably it’s better to place them on the entire website holder) and keep on the alert.

Products Categories

Several days ago I tried to find an online store of one famous jewelry trade mark to choose a small present for myself. Google cheerfully found it for me in a few seconds. And the next 30 minutes I wasted trying to find the proper products category. You’ll be surprised to know that my search was an absolute disaster: there were no lists of products to buy and some jewelries were found by chance. As you understand, there was no itemsí classification. And even fashionable design of the website couldn’t make my impression better. The conclusion of this story is that products list is a must have thing for every eCommerce website.

Want to sell something on the web? You’re welcome, but do it simply, without unnecessary complications!

Probably it’s time to showcase some eye-catchy designs of successful and well-known eCommerce websites. Diligently look them through and probably you’ll find some other important elements of online stores’ home pages designs.

Good article and an interesting list of examples. I like ecommerce sites that use big detailed images of their product to grab your attention, the apple website always manages to show off their products in a desirable and informative way using large images. I really like the design of the famous 4th street cookie site it has a nice easy to use layout and makes me want to buy their product.
